This month’s topic is PEER MENTORING ACROSS SCHOOLS. I’m delighted to be joined by Rob Southwell-Sander from Abingdon School, which is part of the OX14 partnership, and Henry Faber from Oppidan Education.
One strand of OX14’s activities is the Peer Support Leads – students are trained as mentors by teachers from across the partnership in topics such as empathic listening skills, creative listening and safeguarding. Part of what Oppidan does is to train sixth-form students to mentor their younger peers. It’s about developing community, providing a helping hand to those new to big school and helping turn the older students into leaders of tomorrow.
