If you need a break from shopping, or looking for gainful activity during Twixtmas, look no further – let me share some of the articles and books I’ve found insightful recently, in no particular order, but with some feel-good reading at the end:
- The Oxwell student survey on Young People’s Health and Well-Being – some important messages that can inform our partnerships.
- Belonging and Excellence: the importance of local education partnerships – new report from the Area-based Education Partnerships Association, AEPA.
- The Curriculum and Assessment Review – in case you haven’t yet had time to read it. Lots here to inform priorities for partnership.
- Teaching to the Top: strategies for raising attainment and closing the gap at GCSE – published in Eton’s CIRL journal; again, ideas for partnerships for academic enrichment.
- Independent-state school partnerships deep dive – HMC/EPI report. Interesting.
- Tackling Poverty and Disadvantage in Schools – reading this book might change your priorities for partnership…a chapter on partnerships from John Smith. 30% off at the mo.
- Disruptive Women: A WomenEd Guide to Equitable Action in Education – a good read, whether you are a female leader, male ally, or leading partnerships to support gender equity.
- Dear Hope – another lovely blog from Head and Partnerships advocate Leo Winkley.
- The lost art of quiet achievement – beautifully-written reflections on LinkedIn from Head Adam Williams “forging partnerships, not for the likes and the applause, but because they believe in the quiet power of real connection”. His most recent post on ‘Hygge’ is lovely too.
- “What are you prepared to give up in order to have what you truly want?” – if you’ll permit me, my own reflections on 10 years of Astin Consulting.
